Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school in Gurnee, IL, is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary-aged students. The ideal candidate will possess an Illinois Professional Educator License with a Special Education Teaching Endorsement and demonstrate a strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and the Embrace system.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to elementary students with diverse learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusive educational experiences
  • Track student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Embrace platform
  • Contribute to a supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and success

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Special Education Teaching Endorsement
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings
  • Proficiency in writing and managing IEPs
  • Familiarity with Embrace software for student data and reporting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
