Provide support for instruction and technical assistance with progress monitoring and data analysis consultation; involvement in intervention; and evaluation processes.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators, to find effective solutions to academic and behavior problems
- Participate in service team meetings
- Participate in the case study process
- Observe students in the instructional environment in order to identify intervention strategies, barriers to interventions, and collect data pertinent to initial eligibility and re-evaluations
- Document evaluation results appropriately
- Evaluate a student's cognitive functioning when necessary
- Participate in the development of functional/behavioral analysis and the implementation of behavior plans
- Serve as LEA for Annual Reviews, Re-evaluations and Domain meetings. (required for middle school psychologist only)
- Collaborate with the building service team to schedule meetings.
- Serve as the LEA in FBA/BIP development and update meetings. (required for middle school psychologist only)
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal, or other administrative staff.
- Masters Degree and/or Specialist Degree in School Psychology.
- Type 73 certification with a School Psychology endorsement.
- Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred.
- Knowledge of assessing student’s intellectual potential, achievement levels and social/emotional profile through the use of a variety of standardized tools.
- Highly skillful in gathering, utilizing and analyzing data that will assist in educational programming for students.
- A wealth of knowledge of various diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work with many interruptions throughout the course of the day
- This is a 184 day school year. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
