That’s why we’re looking for a hands‑on, customer-driven Technician to join our busy Forest & Groundcare Service & Hire team
.

What the role is really aboutYou’ll be responsible for servicing, repairing and preparing equipment to the highest standard — but more importantly, you’ll be helping customers get back to work safely and efficiently.
This role isn’t just workshop-based engineering.
It’s about ownership, reliability and doing the right thing for the customer every time.
What you’ll be doing Fix it right first time- Diagnose faults across a range of Forest & Groundcare equipment
- Carry out service, repair and testing work to a high standard
- Complete pre‑delivery inspections so equipment leaves ready to perform
- Operate and set up machinery in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Work closely with the Parts team to ensure availability of components
- Prioritise urgent repairs and support emergency call‑outs
- Maintain accurate job records and service documentation
- Prepare hire equipment to dependable working condition
- Maintain tools, plant and workspace safely and professionally
- Carry out vehicle checks and report defects
- Ensure workshop standards reflect the quality we promise customers
You’ll thrive here if you:

- Mechanical engineering qualification (SVQ / City & Guilds / HNC or equivalent)
- Strong fault‑finding ability
- Full driving licence
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Problem‑solver with a practical mindset
- Experience with 2‑stroke & 4‑stroke engines
- Groundcare or professional landscaping equipment
- Mechanical & electrical diagnostics experience
