Overview

NHS Grampian is expanding the Paediatric Department at Dr Gray’s Hospital (DGH), a District General Hospital serving Moray, with a responsibility to deliver essential services and provide care close to home.

The department offers Medical Paediatric and Community Child Health services. We are seeking 2 permanent Paediatric Specialty Doctor colleagues to join the expanding team at this exciting phase of service redesign. These are 40 hour, permanent posts. The role forms part of a blended Tier 2 rota with Advanced Paediatric Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, with opportunities for service and academic development and potential sub-specialty interests within NHS Grampian and North of Scotland networks.

The team is small and supportive, with opportunities to participate in development activities at departmental, regional and national levels. Individualised job planning can be tailored to meet the needs of both service and applicants, including flexible/part-time/annualised work patterns.

Responsibilities
  • Join and contribute to the expanding Paediatric department at Dr Gray’s Hospital, operating as a Paediatric Specialty Doctor within a blended Tier 2 rota with Advanced Paediatric Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.
  • Lead and participate in service development and academic development activities, with opportunities to pursue sub-specialty interests in NHS Grampian and North of Scotland networks.
  • Engage in departmental development activities at local, regional and national levels as part of cross-system collaboration.
  • Participate in flexible/part-time/annualised work patterns through individualised job planning.
Qualifications
  • Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC; licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post.

Additional Information
  • Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours from 1/4/26; part-time hours reduced pro-rata with a corresponding increase in hourly rate so pay is not affected.
