Job Description
To assist with the development and implementation of all financial procedures within the Community Care Finance Team to ensure the charges for Community Care Services are being applied in line with current legislation, policies and procedures as laid down by Central and Local Government. Provide supervisory support to staff members of the Community Care Finance team.
Responsibilities- Assist with the development and implementation of all financial procedures within the Community Care Finance Team.
- Ensure charges for Community Care Services are applied in line with current legislation, policies and procedures.
- Provide supervisory support to staff members of the Community Care Finance team.
- Assist with the development, creation and implementation of IT software packages and training manuals for the Community Care Finance Section.
- Advise service providers and service user/families on financial contributions and charges.
- Assist with the supervision of staff and deputize for the Community Care Finance Officer as required.
- Calculate and finalise financial assessments.
- At least 3 years experience in a financial position.
- Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits.
- 4 SQA Standard Grades or equivalent (level 3 or above, including English and Mathematics/Arithmetic) or evidence of career progression preferably in a supervisory/financial setting.
- Excellent numeracy, organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience using a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
- Ability to resolve problems and cope with day‑to‑day pressures.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload.
- Self‑confident and self‑motivated.
- Appreciation, acceptance and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to relate to colleagues, managers, outside agencies and members of the public in a tactful, discrete and empathetic manner.
- Flexible in working patterns, teamwork and areas of responsibility.
- Approachable and dependable nature.
- Ability to work in a shared office.
- Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the service.
- Ability to work in different offices dependent on the service.
Closing Date: 6 March 2026
Starting Salary: £28,520 (pro rata) / £15.13 per hour, 33 hours per week
