Senior Planning Engineer

Senior Planner – Elgin, Scotland

An experienced Senior Planner based in Elgin, Scotland, responsible for ensuring programme content is fully compliant with planning procedures, contract requirements, and project guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive Tender and Contract Programmes in line with project requirements.

* Identify planning scope, key constraints, major quantities, and factors influencing programme delivery.

* Lead the preparation of planning deliverables including programmes, planning philosophy documents, presentations, and reports.

* Establish and monitor the project critical path, advise on corrective actions, manage baselines, and administer change control processes.

* Oversee resource management (labour, plant, materials) to optimise cost efficiency and programme performance.

* Manage subcontractor and supplier contracts, monitor performance, and resolve contractual issues.

* Produce and analyse project data and KPIs to support informed, data-driven decision-making.

* Provide strategic planning oversight and mentor junior planners, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Skills & Expertise:

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

* Advanced proficiency in planning software including Primavera P6, MS Project, ASTA, and Excel.

* Extensive knowledge of construction project management principles, tender and contract documentation, and risk management processes (TRA, QSRA).

* Proven experience delivering complex construction programmes and leading planning functions across diverse projects.

* Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively, including clients and subcontractors
