Job PurposeProvide leadership, vision, and strategic planning for the district's technology systems and digital learning initiatives. Direct and manage the district's technology infrastructure, network operations, cybersecurity, instructional technology integration, and technology support services to ensure secure, reliable, and effective use of technology in support of student achievement and district operations directly supporting the educational mission of Electra ISD.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Management- Develop and implement a multi-year District Technology Plan.
- Manage the technology budget, including E-Rate filing and vendor contract negotiations.
- Supervise and mentor IT staff (technicians and instructional coaches).
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (CIPA, FERPA, HIPAA).
- Develop and execute initiatives to stay current with the growing demands of the field.
- Oversee the maintenance of LAN/WAN, wireless networks, and fiber connectivity.
- Manage cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
- Coordinate the procurement and lifecycle management of hardware (laptops, interactive displays, etc.).
- Collaborate with Regional Educational Service Center and take advantage of this resource.
- Partner with the Curriculum & Instruction department which includes campus principals, to integrate technology into the classroom.
- Support the implementation of the Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Oversee professional development for staff regarding new software and hardware.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
5+ years in IT management; K-12 experience is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
Networking (Cisco/Ubiquiti), Google Workspace for Education, Windows/Chrome OS environment.
Soft Skills:
Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
