PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2, in El Segundo, CA. Job Pay Rate: $26 - $31/hr
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled maintenance technician who excels in painting and surface finishing work to join our facilities team. While the role supports a broad range of maintenance trades, the primary focus will be on delivering high quality interior and exterior painting services for plant and office environments, as well as for machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate combines artistic precision with solid hands on maintenance experience, ensuring that all painted surfaces are both aesthetically pleasing and protected against wear.
Responsibilities:
Paint Application & Surface Preparation
Perform all phases of painting projects: surface cleaning, sanding, priming, masking, and applying base coat, finish coat, and specialty coatings.
Match colors, textures, and finishes to specifications; use spray guns, rollers, brushes, and automated paint systems as required.
Select and apply appropriate paints, primers, sealants, and protective coatings for metal, wood, concrete, and composite materials.
General Maintenance Trades (supportive)
Carry out routine maintenance tasks and carpentry as needed to keep facilities operational.
Assist other tradespeople with prep work, minor repairs, and clean up to ensure seamless project flow.
Order and Maintain stock of material needed to complete jobs in a timely and professional manner.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum 3 years of hands on maintenance experience, with at least 1 year focused on painting and surface finishing.
Proven ability to perform all phases of painting projects: surface preparation, priming, masking, and application of base coat, finish coat, and specialty coatings.
Familiarity with a variety of paint application tools (spray guns, rollers, brushes)
Ability to work from heights from a ladder or aerial lift.
Experience installing and repairing drywall, hardscape, and concrete.
Preferred Qualifications:
