Recreation Assistant; Arts and Crafts Program

About the Position

This is an NAF position with the 61st Force Support Squadron, located with LA Star Awards on Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, California. This position is considered Flexible. The position is 0 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits.

Assists assigned personnel in all areas of the Arts and Crafts Program. Operates a variety of equipment in assigned area, to include computerized engravers, copiers, lettering machines, heat presses, mat cutters, choppers, and hand power tools. Responsible for operating the cash register, collects money, makes change and issues receipts. At the end of each shift, closes out the cash register, completes required paperwork and submits entire package to supervisor.

Assists in monthly tracking for inventory and sales. Assist in content creation to promote retail operation, program events, and classes. Assists customers in placing special orders. Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment and funds assigned. Provides customer service, answers telephone, emails, and assists shop users with craft skill development and procedures. With guidance from the supervisor, provides demonstrations and guidance on crafts.

Maintains clean, neat and safe work area. Assists supervisor as requested. Performs other related duties as assigned.
