SummaryThe Café Manager is an experienced, motivated growth-oriented leader who believes exceptional food and beverage experiences drive guest trust, repeat visits, and increased spend. This role leads the café team, trains staff, and maintains high food quality, guest service, and cleanliness standards. The Café Manager shapes the ethos of the café environment to foster an interactive, community-focused vibe. The role combines operational organization, service excellence, and team development to deliver wellness-centered dining experiences and to grow the in-house catering program.
EssentialFunctions
- Lead shifts that consistently deliver great food and service.
- Ensure adherence to company guidelines to maintain healthful operations, high food quality, and guest satisfaction.
- Hires, trains, motivates, and supervises hourly team members.
- Utilize Toast POS to manage menus, retail offerings, monitor sales data, and generate actionable reports for operations and catering growth.
- Identify and address liability, risk, and compliance opportunities.
- Partner with Executive Chef and F&B Lead to grow catering and event sales and platforms.
- Write, manage, and execute BEOs with accountable, adaptable operations.
- Adhere to inventory procedures to control food, beverage, and labor costs.
- Investigate and resolve quality and service concerns to strengthen guest trust and performance.
- Establish a visible, knowledgeable café team presence with deep menu and nutritional knowledge as the foundation of service and concept.
- Lead career development by attracting and training high-performing talent.
- Engage on the floor with guests, fostering a culture of learning, curiosity, and warmth.
- 4+ years of management experience in F&B, including catering and event management.
- Experience writing, organizing, and implementing SOPs; experience developing training materials.
- Hands-on catering management experience with strong follow-through, communication, and execution quality.
- Experience writing BEOs and managing catering from conception to execution.
- Interest in and growth of catering within the operation.
- Strong scheduling, coaching, and counseling skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Toast POS (front and back end), menu/modifier management, daily reporting, and restaurant accounting functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong communicator, motivator, and role model; accountable and compliant; aligned with wellness and Love.
