Position Overview
DATA AND RESEARCH ANALYST – The County of San Diego has current openings for this promotional opportunity open to current County employees only. Temporary employees, with the exception of Certified Temporary employees, are not eligible for promotional recruitments. This recruitment will be used to fill a current vacancy with the Sheriff’s Office. The eligible list established from this process may be used to fill future vacancies in other County departments.
Responsibilities- Applies rigorous analytic thinking to the collection and analysis of data
- Supports projects through cleaning and transforming various types of data
- Creates analytical datasets for different types of projects
- Performs descriptive and exploratory data analyses
- Contributes creative ideas to the development of proposals for new projects or for changes to existing projects
- Provides technical assistance for projects that require data collection, cleaning, transformation, or analysis
- Is actively and thoughtfully engaged in the activities of multidisciplinary teams, drawing on their technical expertise to support analytic tasks
- Creates and maintains well documented code and other documentation required for other data analysts to replicate and reproduce work products
- Finds extracts and interprets data meanings in data for trends, solutions, improvements, efficiencies, and understanding community needs
- Builds dashboards and reports to visualize data statistics
- Collects, analyzes, and manages data to develop, monitor, and improve outcome-based performance measures that support evidence-based, data-driven decision-making
