Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, delivers affordable, high‑performance space systems for exacting customers. As part of the Production team, you will be a versatile aerospace manufacturing leader tasked with overseeing the production of our low Earth orbit satellites, leading the manufacturing and assembly processes for our products, and driving continuous improvement in design for manufacturability and delivery of space‑grade avionics, structures, and propulsion hardware at high rate and low cost.
The role will serve as the technical subject matter expert for the greater production and supply chain organization, advocate for the team, manage cross‑functional relationships, and develop strategies to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost.
This position requires the ability to work second shift (3:30 pm‑1:00 am). Internal job code:

- Serve as the primary point of support for the manufacturing technician team.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to each team member via frequent one‑on‑one meetings and formal performance reviews.
- Establish career development plans and foster individual growth to unlock each member’s maximum potential.
- Advocate for the team and cultivate an environment where they can be successful.
- Manage communication within the team by providing context and rationale for higher‑level decisions.
- Develop cross‑training initiatives, staffing plans, and a robust recruiting pipeline to support growing business needs.
- Increase the efficiency of business processes to maximize output, limit burden, and enable rapid transition from engineering development to high‑rate production.
- Leverage cross‑functional relationships to identify improvement opportunities, align priorities, and execute initiatives that reduce lead time and labor hours.
- Use data to establish, monitor, and improve manufacturing metrics encompassing safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Enable manufacturing and supply chain autonomy by challenging requirements, simplifying work processes, and automating actions.
- Partner with peer engineering teams to implement design changes in response to manufacturing and supply chain issues, customer challenges, new vehicle architectures, and departmental standardization initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years of experience leading technician teams.
- Experience working with various manufacturing execution systems.
- Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency with PC applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in business.
- Demonstrated ability to aggregate, visualize, and analyze data to make informed decisions (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power
BI). - Familiarity with PCBA manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, propulsion production, mechanisms fabrication, or structures build.
- Demonstrated ability to scale manufacturing rate capability.
- Level K: $103,700–$152,500
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. The “U.S. Person” definition includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.
Security ClearanceRequires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; an interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret clearance post‑start is required.
