Overviewdnata catering U.S. seeks a Food Production Supervisor to cover a LOA. Candidates must be available for up to 6 months and are located in El Segundo, CA. The role oversees efficient and high‑quality production of food items for airline passengers, managing and leading a team of chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and motivate the AM or PM food production team.
- Safeguard on‑time performance.
- Develop and streamline processes for accessibility, availability, cost, quality, and production assurance.
- Guarantee systems for maximum productivity.
- Attend food‑tasting sessions as required.
- Adhere to food‑safety compliance, HACCP regulations, FDA, and dnata internal rules.
- Manage day‑to‑day food production supervisors and assembly room staff.
- Guide communications to ensure food‑cost goals and on‑time delivery of finished product.
- Plan assigned work to ensure on‑time delivery of finished product.
- Manage multiple priorities and meet frequent short‑timeline goals and deadlines.
- Calculate labor standards according to flight production schedules and meal order volumes.
- Stay within budgeted labor goals (head count, regular hours, overtime).
- Identify problematic areas and suggest solutions to Production or Operation Manager / General Manager.
- Present solutions to supervisors / department heads and management.
- Employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold (35‑40 °F).
- Salary: $62,000 – $75,000

Nonessential Functions- Other duties as assigned.
Associate degree (A.A.) from a two‑year college or technical school; or five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years experience in complex food production environments such as airline catering.
Qualifications- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- 3+ years experience in manufacturing and manufacturing processes, preferably complex food production environments.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with diverse groups.
- Knowledge of HACCP and general food safety standards.
- Experience in culinary knowledge of terms, procedures, and practices.
- Flexible to perform tasks independently or as part of a team.
- High‑end food knowledge is an asset but not required.
Requires multitasking under time limits, constant attention to detail, punctuality, and responsibility.
Physical DemandsRegularly stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 30 pounds.
