WORK HOURS:

Full time, 40 hours

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) current and future operational needs.

As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC is responsible for the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical systems spanning the entire acquisition life cycle. These efforts ensure the United States Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners maintain a strategic advantage in space operations. This position will support multiple SSC/SZ-BC programs, as well as other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Support Space Acquisitions and Engineering:
Provide technical advice for projects across the acquisition life cycle, including advanced technology, concept development, and integration.
* Advise on Cost, Schedule, and Performance:
Assist the government in managing acquisition programs efficiently.
* Develop and Revise Acquisition Documentation:
Draft and update Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and acquisition documents, including Initial Capability Documents, Acquisition Strategies, Concept of Operations, Technical Evaluations, and reports, following government standards (e.g., MIL-STD).
* Provide Technical and Programmatic Reports:
Prepare status reports on programs or portfolios in coordination with government program managers.
* Identify and Mitigate Risks:
Recommend and implement acquisition process improvements, risk mitigation plans, and programmatic changes. Support risk management efforts, including risk identification and mitigation strategies.
* Support Financial and Budget Analysis:
Assist program managers with budgeting, commitments, and expenditures, including earned value management and schedule analysis for defense contracts.
* Provide Planning, Programming, Budgeting Execution (PPBE) Support:
Help manage classified funding distribution, congressional reporting, fiscal year planning, continuing resolutions, and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development.
* Monitor and Maintain Program Schedules:
Track acquisition implementation, report requirement gaps, assess program risks, and update acquisition reports based on program execution data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience with program management for ACAT-like weapon systems, in particular managing the planning, programming, budgeting and execution of funds
* Highly knowledgeable in the fields of Space Force financial management
* Prior program management or finance experience
* At least 10 years' experience in this type of position or program is required. MA/MS or MBA degree required; however, a BA/BS degree is acceptable if the candidate possesses at least 12 years of experience in this type of position or program. The Materiel Leader may also waive the MA/MS requirement.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not supervise the work of others. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%. TRAVEL:
Little if any travel is required. OTHER DUTIES:
