The Global Network Delivery organization seeks a highly motivated, best‑in‑class Network Deployment Planner to join the Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The team scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations.

The Network Deployment Planner works closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering, and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to local data center installation & deployment technicians for smooth capacity execution.

The ideal candidate possesses a technology background to understand the sophisticated network architecture of Amazon data centers. Candidates must be highly autonomous, very detail oriented, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have experience in managing network deployment projects. Competent in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions.

• Ensure adherence to timelines.
• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
• Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on‑demand customer capacity.
• Apply knowledge of network cabling and optic types.
• Apply best practices and methodologies for cabling infrastructure.
• Understand common networking terms.
• Exercise excellent judgement and analytical skills, prioritizing tasks based on fluctuating needs.
• Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule, and construction milestones.
• Apply core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience in project management.

• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
