Job Summary: As a Clinical Liaison, you will have the ability to use your knowledge and expertise while working in a strategic business environment. Successful Liaisons will educate the community about the Acute, Sub-Acute, Behavioral Health services and evaluate medically appropriate patients for potential admission to Pipeline Health facilities. Serves as an advocate for patients during the pre-admission process. Under the general direction of the VP for Marketing and Communications and hospital CEOs, the liaison works with clinical teams and groups in evaluating both current and potential patients' statuses and medical needs.

Liaison also serves as a resource for the hospital and healthcare professionals and develops result-producing relationships throughout the medical facilities. This role requires you to drive your personal vehicle as part of your work duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Make daily visits to community providers and healthcare facilities to cultivate relationships with physicians and staff and provide education about appropriate patient referrals/admissions.
  • Conduct thorough review of patient criteria to identify patients for potential admission into the Pipeline Health System.
  • Complete Pre-Admission Screens, according to facility policies and procedures and payer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Pipeline Health emergency department physicians, directors, and nursing leaders.
  • Monitor emergency rooms for behavioral health cases and patient flow. Design and implement improvement strategies to optimize these areas.
  • Investigate and respond to community provider concerns related to patient care at Pipeline hospitals, in collaboration with hospital CEO and others.
  • Provide expertise in Business Development strategy, identifying partnership opportunities that align with Pipeline Health’s goals.
  • Analyze hospital data to quantify specific efforts and how they lead to increases in volume, growth, revenue, etc. by program, service line and/or physician.
  • Work with leadership to ensure hospital’s infrastructure, staffing and processes can support new strategic initiatives for Acute, Sub Acute, and Behavioral Health. Use data and feedback to adjust and ensure continuous process improvement.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external partners as assigned.

Communication/Knowledge:

  • Must have successful experience in a healthcare setting, strong interpersonal skills, and experience working with physicians, nursing management, discharge planners, case managers and social workers.
  • Knowledge of acute hospitals and post-acute settings.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to present clear, concise information to executive management.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.

Qualifications/

Experience:

  • Track record of successful experience in a health care setting, strong interpersonal skills, and experience working with physicians, nursing management, discharge planners, case managers, and social workers.
  • Clinical experience highly desired.
  • Knowledge of the LA Managed Care Market, acute hospitals and post-acute settings, preferred.
  • Basic skills with Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.
Education

Bachelors or better.
