OverviewThe Accounting Team Lead acts as the Budget and Contracts Supervisor for the Mississippi Development Authority, directing all budgetary, contractual, and payment activities through the MAGIC system. This role involves oversight of foreign accounts, close collaboration with HR on salary oversight and adjustments, preparation of annual budget requests, and tracking legislative performance metrics. The position also delivers essential support across various financial and administrative tasks within the division.
This is a time-limited position.
- Entering and monitoring Agency Level Budget
- Processing and tracking budget adjustments
- Approving agency payment
- Monitoring and maintaining the Agency’s foreign office Bank Account
- Coordinating with Human Resources (HR) on salary tracking and adjustment
- Preparing the Agency’s Annual Budget request to the Legislature
- Monitoring and maintaining the Performance Indicators for Legislative Tracking
- Other duties as assigned with the Division
Note:
This is a non-state service (NS14), time-limited position with The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA).
- Ability to utilize Mississippi's Accountability System for Government Information and Collaboration (MAGIC) specifically relating to the Supplier Resource Module (SRM) and Contract modules within MAGIC. Familiarity with budgets, cost centers, internal orders and other MAGIC coding a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Sound reasoning skills and strong analytical skills.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5-6 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
- Experience with MAGIC
- Experience with SPAHRS
