Sheriff's Property and Evidence Specialist II
The Sheriff's Office is hiring for a Sheriff's Property and Evidence Specialist II. This position is responsible for specialized duties related to collection, preservation, secure storage, lawful disposal, and custody chain maintenance of property and physical evidence acquired by the Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies.
Qualifications- One (1) year of experience as a Sheriff's Property and Evidence Specialist I with the County of San Diego
- OR Eighteen (18) months of experience receiving, storing, releasing, and disposing of property and evidence in a law enforcement agency
A valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment, or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel. Employees may be required to use their own vehicle.
Condition of EmploymentProspective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position. Incumbents must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency.

EvaluationProcess
Qualified applicants will be placed on a five (5) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information provided on the employment applicant and supplemental questionnaire. Applicants who successfully pass the initial screening will have their application reviewed individually to confirm that the information provided is accurate and qualifying.
