Job Description Overview
Unilever has set out the bold ambition to be the world’s leading wellness organization. Our Wellbeing Collective (WBC) has bold ambitions to be a leader in the industry, driven by a portfolio of Wellbeing and Lifestyle brands.
Over the past 6 years Unilever has acquired 7 brands that embody the Wellbeing purpose of health as a lifestyle pursuit. This portfolio of millennial, digital first, narrow casting brands includes Equilibra, Olly, Smarty Pants Vitamins, Liquid IV, Welly, Onnit, and Nutrafol.
The Head of Corporate Finance is a senior enterprise leader responsible for financial stewardship, controls, and investment discipline across the WBC. As we scale toward our €5bn 2030 ambition and a €3bn turnover in 2026, this role bridges the gap between the discipline of a public company and the agility of a fast-growing start-up.
Role DescriptionHead of Corporate Finance is a senior enterprise finance leader responsible for financial stewardship, finance operations, risk and controls, and investment discipline across the Wellbeing portfolio. The role is designed for a leader with strong strategic influence and credibility across all core finance disciplines — able to connect governance, operations, investment decisions, and transformation to real business outcomes. This role requires the "soft skills" to navigate a matrixed portfolio, partnering with OpCo CFOs to drive performance while institutionalizing world-class governance.
Success requires the judgment to meet operating companies where they are in maturity, balancing rigor, pace, and commercial impact while maintaining trust with senior stakeholders.
- Controls & Integrity:
Own the WBC controllership framework, ensuring best-in-class accounting, statutory reporting, and tax governance across all legal entities. - Governance Fluency:
Build SOX-like control frameworks and serve as the primary boss-tie interface between Unilever Corporate Finance, audit committees, and external auditors. - Finance Interface:
Serve as the primary finance interface with Unilever corporate finance, audit committees, and internal and external auditors. - Finance Operations & Transformation:
Lead finance operations across Record-to-Report (RTR), Order-to-Cash (OTC), and Procure-to-Pay (PTP), tailoring solutions to brand maturity. - Systems Strategy:
Act as the finance lead in ERP and other key technology and architecture decisions, ensuring processes are compliant, scalable, and aligned with risk appetite of WBC and OpCo’s. - Transformation:
Lead major enterprise transformation programs, including route-to-market changes, supply chain make-vs-buy decisions, technology and architecture, and readiness for centralization, outsourcing, and automation. - Data & Analytics:
In partnership with WBC Data & Analytics, develop leading financial and non-financial information for the business that is democratized, self-serviced, and properly governed. - Investment Stewardship & Business Development:
Establish Investment Stewardship as a core finance capability, creating common language and discipline for evaluating growth, marketing, e-commerce, and strategic investments. - AI & Technology:
Lead in creating value with AI while navigating risks of emerging technology and applications. - Leadership:
Lead through influence without authority, partnering closely with Operating Company CFOs as the “first team.”
- 15+ years of progressive finance experience across controllership, operations, governance, and business partnering in FMCG or similarly complex environments.
- Demonstrated credibility across core finance disciplines; not required to be the technical master of everything, but able to lead with confidence, judgment, and influence.
- Experience engaging audit committees, senior corporate leadership, and regulators in publicly listed company environments.
- Track record in M&A due diligence, integration, and enterprise transformation.
- Clear CFO-track ambition with the capability and aspiration to move into a future OpCo CFO role.
