InternshipOverview
As a Thermal Engineering Intern you will support thermal analysis and testing for our spacecraft and avionics. The role includes building and validating thermal models with Thermal Desktop/SINDA, overseeing test planning and execution, and generating post‑test reports. You will work on one or more active satellite programs during a 10‑12 week internship, gaining hands‑on experience in the design and verification of satellite thermal systems.
Responsibilities- Build, validate, analyze, and post‑process thermal models in Thermal Desktop / SINDA.
- Plan, set up, execute, and generate post‑test reports for thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing of spacecraft components.
- Support Thermal Vacuum testing of spacecraft (SCTV).
- Assist program Thermal Responsible Engineering Authorities with documentation and model post‑processing.
- Attend team and program meetings, providing status updates on projects to stakeholders.
- Will be able to work full‑time for 10‑12 weeks during Summer 2026.
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer (conduction and radiation).
- Pursuing a degree in an engineering field (Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Energy, Materials, etc.).
- Proficiency in at least one CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, etc.) and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Enrolled student at a college or university with an expected graduation date on or after August 2026.
- Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above).
- Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills demonstrated through leadership roles.
- Technical experience through projects, research, or prior engineering internships.
- Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for aerospace engineering.
- Junior or senior class standing.
- The internship is 100% onsite; selected candidates must work at one of the listed locations.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a “U.S. Person” (U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
- Candidates may need to obtain a U.S. security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
- Applicants must be willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance.

Pay and BenefitsHourly pay ranges between $21.15 and $30.77, based on experience and qualifications.
