InternshipOverview
In this role the intern will work alongside the astrodynamics team to support mission analysis tasks for several programs. Responsibilities include expanding the test coverage of in‑house astrodynamics software in Matlab and Python, improving and optimizing modeling and simulation tools, and assisting in the development of new tools and demonstrations. The intern will gain experience in orbital mechanics, orbit determination, maneuver planning, rendezvous, constellation design, coverage analysis, and cislunar modeling.
InternshipActivities & Responsibilities
- Write unit test functions for in‑house astrodynamics software.
- Develop illustrative examples and tutorials for core astrodynamics tools.
- Build automated test suites for select programs.
- Develop one or more new astrodynamics tools.
- Present work to the engineering team at the end of summer.
- Ability to work full‑time for 10‑12 weeks during Summer 2026.
- Pursuing an Aerospace Engineering or equivalent major.
- Proficient with MATLAB and Python.
- Experience using GMAT.
- Enrolled student attending college or university with an expected graduation date on or after August 2026.
- Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above).
- Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations.
- Strong technical experience demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships.
- Exceptional communication skills and interest and enthusiasm related to engineering, aerospace, and a career with Boeing.
- Junior or Senior class standing.
The position requires compliance with U.S. export control regulations. Applicants must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62, which includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees. Additionally, candidates must be eligible for a U.S. security clearance; therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.
Compensation & BenefitsSummary pay range: $21.15 /hr – $30.77 /hr.
