Overview
Model Based Systems Engineer SME at K , Inc. The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) / Directorate of Science and Technology (ST) / Office of Space and Counter space (SCS) requires scientific, engineering, and sustainment services to streamline development, delivery, integration, and management of SCS programs. This position supports Systems Engineering & Integration activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment, applying MBSE to consolidate and optimize DIA’s technical collection capabilities and data flows.
Key Responsibilities- Apply Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to support development of technical baselines
- Analyze system requirements that define and verify the technical baseline
- Collaborate with Government and contractor personnel to close gaps in the flow of requirements down through system and component levels
- Lead and support Government/Contractor Working Group meetings—creating briefings, leading discussions, and writing minutes to resolve risks, gaps, and action items
- Review proposed changes to the technical baseline for impacts to enterprise capabilities and cross-stakeholder integration concerns
- Facilitate review of program documents by providing comments, compiling reviewer feedback, and working with contractors to adjudicate comments
- Serve as subject matter expert to assess technical issues and prepare briefings to DIA management
- Manage risks, issues, interdependencies, schedule conflicts, and action plans; assist Government in executing solutions

Standard
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain a Special Compartmented Investigation (SCI) is required
- BS degree in engineering
- 20+ years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering
- 20+ years with system specification, verification, or analysis
- Expertise in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a secure, confined location (SCIF)
- Familiarity with sensor systems used in the Intelligence Community
- Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP)
- MBSE certifications (OCSMP)
- Agile Development certifications
- Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
- Experience with MILSATCOM programs and ground/airborne systems
- Experience with the Intelligence Community (IC)
- Basic Compensation:
El Segundo, CA $170,000 - $210,000;
Colorado Springs, CO $160,000 - $200,000 - Additional compensation may include sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short/long term incentives, or discretionary payments
