Test Engineer – Space Systems

Requirements Must have

• Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent years of professional experience
• 3 to 5 years in a hardware testing environment
• Proficiency with thermal chambers, thermal vacuum chambers, and/or vibration shakers
• Experience in authoring test protocols, implementing process enhancements, and managing non-conformances of units under test
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship

• Act as the main support for environmental testing equipment and procedures, overseeing the execution of tests on spacecraft hardware
• Develop testing protocols for spacecraft hardware, ensuring preparedness and resolving issues during testing phases (qualification and acceptance)
• Create standard operating procedures for environmental testing technicians
• Enhance the effectiveness of manufacturing testing processes to optimize output and facilitate swift transitions from development to high-rate production
• Discover improvement opportunities and implement measures to maintain safety, ensure quality, and minimize lead times and labor hours through environmental testing
• Identify, implement, and validate environmental test equipment and procedures to support high reliability and throughput
• Diagnose and address root causes of problems in environmental testing processes, including hardware defects or software issues, and apply permanent solutions to prevent recurrence
• Promote production independence by challenging specifications, simplifying procedures, and introducing automation
• Serve as the technical expert for environmental testing processes and equipment
• Innovate test equipment automation to boost efficiency, reduce errors, and maximize output in environmental testing processes
