Job SummaryAs a Mechanical Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, document, test, and commission automated manufacturing equipment. A successful candidate for this role will demonstrate determination, integrity, curiosity, and technical capability. We are currently hiring for L1 (entry level) - L3IC (Senior).
Job Responsibilities- Design and develop manufacturing equipment from concept to production.
- Evaluate, qualify, and engage with vendors for components, subsystems, and entire pieces of manufacturing equipment.
- Perform failure mode analysis to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and performant.
- Collaborate with Production, M&P, and other peer teams to ensure alignment of projects to business goals.
- Resolve issues encountered in production. Develop and test engineering changes as necessary.
- Ensure equipment meets requirements for throughput, quality, safety, and footprint.
- Identify and drive improvement projects to improve current manufacturing processes.
- Document equipment so that it is simple and intuitive to operate complex equipment.
- 2+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, automation, and/or manufacturing.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar Engineering discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with other mechanical design tools (CAD, FEA, PLM, etc.).
- Hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong Mechanical Design Skills (materials selection, statics/dynamics, tolerancing, component selection, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with investment casting, vacuum melting & casting, heat treatment, ceramics manufacturing, or similar.
- Familiarity with SLA printers, furnaces or high‑vacuum systems.
- Familiarity with highly regulated production environments and safety‑critical equipment.
- Familiarity with industrial controls (PLC, HMI, common controls components).
- Has had ownership over automated equipment builds.
- Worked for a high‑growth tech company / start‑up.
- Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
- Level 1: $90,000–$110,000 plus equity.
- Level 2: $108,000–$132,000 plus equity.
- Level 3 (senior): $126,000–$154,000 plus equity.
