Manufacturing Engineer - Structures & Propulsion - 2nd Shift
Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to develop, qualify, and implement manufacturing processes for satellites, subsystems, and components. The role is required to work second shift.
Position Responsibilities- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods; work with equipment vendors.
- Review designs for manufacturability and production scalability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain work instructions, bills of materials, SOPs to support manufacturing and supply chain execution.
- Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, advanced technologies, and concepts.
- Lead advanced design solutions and support research of new product or business opportunities.
- Lead and execute tasks to transition hardware build from low‑rate initial production to higher rate production.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (ABET accredited).
- 3+ years of mechanical manufacturing engineering experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or Commercial industries.
- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings, technical manuals, and policies, and making procedure recommendations.
- Good understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
- Strong technical problem‑solving skills, including root cause analysis and engineering corrective actions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and concepts.
- Experience with composites, bonded joints, dampers, additive manufacturing, shock, or mechanisms.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies (Five Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, 8D).
- Aerospace or DOD experience.
- Lean Manufacturing/Process Improvement background.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- U.S. Person status as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 / §120.62.
- Must be willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance (Top Secret). U.S. citizenship required.
- Position is ITAR compliant and requires eligibility for a security clearance.
- Level 2: $80,750–$118,750
- Level 3: $96,050–$141,250
