Job Summary

As a Ground Systems Engineer, you will support Millennium’s ground software and mission control systems. You will design and develop ground system approaches for new programs, develop the integration and test plans and procedures for software and mission‑specific ground system hardware, work with software developers and customers to deliver complete software and hardware solutions installed both at Millennium’s factory and at customer‑owned and operated sites for a variety of customers, support proposal development efforts to win new business, and be involved with the ground development process from contract start to launch and sustain through program life.

Position

Responsibilities

• Lead definition of requirements for ground software and the rest of the ground segment
• Help manage customer relationships directly with trade studies, development and testing for meeting system’s mission requirements
• Design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver large-scale ground software and mission control systems
• Lead with other Millennium staff to support testing on components, subsystems, and spacecraft in test configurations
• Develop plans and procedures to integrate Millennium software applications into Government‑furnished software and infrastructure
• Oversee integrated system test events bridging Millennium‑developed products and Government‑furnished systems
• Design the interfaces and implementation plans for mission data processing applications to support payload elements and our programs’ user segments
• Support ground software and systems during on‑orbit activities, including launch, early operations, on‑orbit test, normal operations, and end‑of‑life operations
• Support proposals for new ground software and systems in support of new business efforts
• Other duties as assigned

Security Clearance And Export Control Requirements

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required, including U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• 5 years of related experience
• Comfortable communicating technical details verbally and in writing
• Experience generating system designs using iterative and agile development approaches

Preferred Qualifications (Desirable)

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Math, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• Two or more years of experience designing, developing and/or operating ground software and ground systems
• Active TS/SCI clearance

100% onsite at El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Pay range for Level 4: $128,350 – $188,750. Salary based on experience and qualifications.
