Job SummaryThe El Segundo Set Shop is seeking a full-time Entry-Level CAD Drafter to support fabrication projects in a fast-paced shop environment. The ideal candidate will assist in creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings used for the construction of props and scenery for trade show booths, toy displays, television commercials, and photo shoots
.
Vectorworks experience is preferred. Trade show, set design, or engineering experience is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities- Create 2D and 3D shop drawings
, patterns, and templates from preliminary designs - Convert sketches and written/verbal instructions into CAD detail and assembly drawings
- Support fabrication teams in wood, metal, and model shops
- Prepare drawings to support accurate and timely production
- Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, and shop teams
- Demonstrated CAD drafting skills
- Basic design and layout knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment
- Experience with Vectorworks
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (plus)
- Background in trade show fabrication, set design, or engineering (plus)
