Contract: 3 months, with potential extension
Mattel is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Global Licensing Manager to support and grow its in-licensing portfolio across multiple product categories. This role manages licensor relationships, negotiates agreements, and ensures brand integrity across product lines and global markets.
Role OverviewThe Manager partners closely with Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, Legal, Finance, Consumer Products, Film, Television, and Sales to drive growth across Mattel’s toy portfolio and related businesses. This is a highly visible role requiring strong commercial judgment, collaboration, and execution.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as primary point of contact for licensors and agents; manage relationships and identify new in-licensing opportunities
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to integrate licensing strategies into product development and go-to-market plans
- Build and present financial models and business cases for licensing proposals and renewals
- Negotiate new agreements, renewals, and amendments in partnership with Legal
- Audit and analyze sales and royalty data to ensure accuracy and contractual compliance
- Represent licensing in brand and franchise meetings, providing updates and identifying opportunities
- Maintain licensing agreements and documentation
- Manage special product orders, trademark releases, and IP enforcement coordination
- Prepare licensing reports, dashboards, and stakeholder updates
- Support trade shows, brand presentations, and internal business reviews
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Business, Marketing, or Licensing preferred - 6+ years of consumer products licensing experience (toy or entertainment strongly preferred)
- Proven success negotiating agreements and managing complex licensor relationships
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, global environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Management-level experience
- Strategic, commercially minded, and execution-focused
- Confident negotiator and communicator
- Comfortable working in a matrixed, global organization
