THE OPPORTUNITY: Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense’s (DoD) current and future operational needs.

This position will support multiple SSC/SZ-BC programs, as well as other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations. Join us in shaping the future of space operations and contributing to the defense of our nation’s space assets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the government in routine business operations, including executive-level administrative support, office management, personnel management, human resources management, and configuration and data management. Tasks involve research, statistical reports, information requests, personnel records coordination, mail distribution, managing executive schedules, planning and booking travel via Defense Travel System, coordinating staff activities, and arranging meetings and events.
  • Provide analysis, interpretation, monitoring, and resolution support for government tasks using Task Management Tool (TMT). Ensure compliance with Space Systems Command, Space Force, Air Force, and DoD policies. Facilitate interactions with key acquisition organizations and oversee document quality and completion.
  • Develop, document, modify, and maintain standard functional databases to support mission requirements. Plan and execute transitions to updated databases and software as approved.
  • Manage government civilian recordkeeping and serve as the primary contact for civilian human resource management. Assist in identifying vacancies, creating requisitions, completing personnel actions, coordinating security waivers, updating personnel documents, and handling special manpower requests.
  • Support meeting administration including scheduling, security controls, and execution. Use Microsoft Calendar for routine meetings, capture action items, record minutes, and distribute them promptly. Summarize meeting effectiveness and decisions.
  • Assist with military and civilian awards processing including monitoring timelines, ordering plaques, updating recognition boards, and supporting the awards board process. Ensure compliance with regulations and monitor award package processing.
  • Develop and maintain schedules using Microsoft Project.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree is required.
  • Requires 12 or more years’ experience performing acquisition management activities related to contracting, legal, policy, and regulatory development, review, and compliance in the government (military and/or civil servant), federally funded research and development center, or profit/non-profit government support/development contractor arena, of which six years must include duties/assignments specifically in support of the Department of Defense.
  • Requires experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position may supervise the work of others.
