Job Summary

Nant Works is seeking a high performer who is eager to learn, has a passion for numbers, and shows a proven record of increasing responsibility. The Accounting Senior reports to the Controller and will be responsible for timely preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations all culminating in the preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. In addition, the Accounting Senior will be asked to assist with various ad‑hoc projects from time to time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Maintain accounts and prepare monthly account reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Primarily responsible for preparing recurring journal entries in preparation for month‑end close for real estate entities including:
    • fixed assets and related depreciation
    • CAM allocations
    • cost of goods sold and revenue recognition
    • intercompany transactions
    • All other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for preparing financial statements and supporting schedules for assigned entities according to monthly close schedule
  • Prepare trending analysis for both balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts for major business lines
  • Assist in reviewing and preparing contract briefs for related legal documents
  • Assist in development and documentation of processes and procedures, monitoring of internal controls
  • Assist in preparation of audit documentation for financial statement and process audits
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors or higher degree in accounting
  • CPA is a plus
  • Mix of public accounting (2+ years) and industry (2+ years) experience is a plus
  • Ability to successfully meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel – incl. Pivot Tables, and VLOOKUPS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP and consolidations
  • Systems knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Microsoft 365 is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
  • Ability and willingness to take on ad‑hoc projects and complete them timely and accurately
WORKING ENVIRONMENT /

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Pay Range Statement

This is the pay range the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. Compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position.
