Delivery Driver

Job Requirements and Duties

• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards. Access to an insured vehicle required.
• Possess navigational skills to read maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi‑story buildings.
• Operate all equipment and stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
• Prepare product and receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Undergo orientation and on‑the‑job training.
• Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers over the phone and in person to process orders.
• Calculate monetary change accurately and use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.

Essential Functions / Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (calculator may be used).
• Ability to make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise, rapid movements.
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.

Work Conditions

• Exposure to varying and adverse weather conditions when delivering product, driving, and couponing.
• In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas; sudden temperature changes may occur both inside and outside.
• Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk‑in cooler), hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Physical Requirements

• Standing:
  Most tasks performed from a standing position on walking surfaces such as ceramic tile, bricks, or linoleum; work surfaces between 36–48 inches high.
• Walking:
  Short distances for short durations; delivery personnel travel between store and delivery vehicle and from vehicle to customer locations.
• Sitting:
  Paperwork normally completed in an office at a desk or table.
• Lifting:
  Bulk product deliveries may require lifting 50‑pound items with a hand truck; cases up to 3′×1.5′.
• Carrying:
  Items weighing 3–30 pounds carried from workstation to storage shelves; trays of pizza dough (≈12 pounds) carried three at a time.
• Pushing:
  Trays on dollies require up to 7.5 pounds of force; trays may also be pulled.

Additional Information

• Stooping/Bending:
  Forward bending necessary at pizza assembly station; no flexion of knees while standing does not appear to be a limitation.
• Reaching:
  Frequent reaching up, down, and forward, sometimes above 72 inches.
• Driving:
  Deliver pizzas within the designated delivery area; may make several deliveries per shift.
• Hand Tasks:
  Continuous use of hands, forearms, and wrists during pizza dough shaping, cutting, and box assembly.
• Climbing:
  Occasionally navigate stairs or ladders; up to five flights of stairs may be required during delivery.

Valid driver’s license with safe driving record meeting company standards is required. Access to an insured vehicle for delivery is also required.
