The Transportation driver picks up and transports passengers and when needed hospital materials to approved designations. Carries out minor maintenance of department vehicles and reports repair needs to Manager. Coordinates all activities with a primary focus on Customer Service to both the internal and external Customer.
Required Skills:
- Exceptional Customer Service skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and assist passengers and passengers with special needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with various individuals in stressful, highly sensitive situations. Ability to work effectively with people of all social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to speak fluently in English and Spanish preferred.
Required Experience:
Work Experience:
One-year customer service experience required and one year previous public transportation driving experience required. Must be able to be contacted in case of an emergency. Must have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude. Must have no more than one traffic violation within the last three years.
Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Valid Driver's License.
CPR Certified or obtain within 6 months of hire.
Defensive Driving course certification obtained within the past year or within 6 months of hire, renewal required every 3 years.
Education and Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must complete hospital’s in-service course of de-escalation within three months of employment.
