Summary

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for an Aquatics & Park Services Lead. The El Paso Water Park Aquatics & Park Services Lead is responsible for providing a safe recreational environment by ensuring guests follow water park policies and responding to any emergencies in a timely manner.

Position Summary

The Aquatics & Park Services Lead reports to the Aquatics & Park Services Supervisor and assists with all areas of the Aquatics/Park Service department. This pivotal role collaborates to maintain pool safety by vigilantly monitoring activities, engaging with patrons, and providing quality service for swim lesson programming. The Lead oversees staff, ensures safety compliance, maintains facility standards, and keeps proper record‑keeping in coordination with all departments of El Paso Water Parks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Enforce all rules and regulations.
  • Ensure lifeguard rotations, breaks, and staffing comply with Ellis & Associates, state, and local regulations.
  • Supervise a team of approximately 30+ lifeguards, resolving conflict and coaching staff.
  • Perform monthly audit of quota‑observing lifeguards, live‑action drills, and operational mannequin drops.
  • Test pool chemicals and manage operational manikin drops when necessary.
  • Act as the management responder for first aid or medical needs, completing first aid reports with factual statements.
  • Maintain and care for issued equipment and water park records.
  • Participate in in‑service training programs for safety and customer service at all water park facilities.
  • Keep the water park areas free of dangerous objects and substances, enforcing safety standards.
  • Serve as a first responder, jumping into water to keep guests safe.
  • Report needed repairs to supervisors, assistants, and managers.
  • Maintain a professional public image and comply with all company trainings and compliance courses.
  • Assist in opening, closing, and operating the facility as directed by management.
  • Work extended and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Recognize and respond effectively to all emergency and difficult situations.
  • Assist in training and managing the Park Services Team including COVID policies, proper chemical training, and cleanliness training.
  • Follow and enforce all sanitation procedures, safety guidelines, and OSHA requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Must be able to swim, perform water activities, and rescue.
  • Swim 50 yards front crawl or breaststroke, swim under water for 10 feet, and retrieve a 10‑pound brick in shallow water.
  • Swim 200 yards front crawl or breaststroke, tread water for 2 minutes with hands out of the water, and retrieve a 10‑pound brick in deep water.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, vendors, patrons, and others.
  • Current Ellis & Associates (or equivalent) lifeguard certification preferred; able to attain certification upon hire.
  • Recognize an emergency and take appropriate action.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience with a team‑oriented approach.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Working toward a High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Preferred two years of experience in aquatics operations: lifeguarding, lifeguard training, swim instruction.
  • Ability to swim.
Computer Skills

Operate a personal computer using Windows, Microsoft Office, and other standard office equipment (preferred).

Physical Demands
  • Work in a stationary position and move around the facilities for prolonged periods.
  • Bend routinely and repetitively to lift 20 lb or less; occasionally bend to lift more than 20 lb.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
