Position: LIFEGUARD OF EL PASO WATER PARKS

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for Lifeguard positions at El Paso Water Parks. The lifeguard ensures a safe recreational environment by enforcing water park policies and responding promptly to emergencies.

Position Summary

The lifeguard reports to the Aquatic & Park Service Lead & Aquatic & Park Service Supervisor and plays a pivotal role in maintaining pool safety by vigilantly monitoring activities, engaging with patrons, and providing quality service for swim lesson programming. This position requires coordination with all departments of El Paso Water Parks and ensures proper and efficient operation, care, and maintenance of the facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Enforce all rules and regulations.
  • Provide needed supervision to prevent accidents.
  • Scan assigned areas and never leave unless qualified relief is present.
  • Assist aquatic leadership to ensure smooth operation of the facilities.
  • Participate in in‑service training programs for safety and customer service at all water park facilities; complete all required company trainings and compliance courses, including at least 4 hours of in‑service per month per E&A lifeguard certificate qualification.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of issued equipment.
  • Keep the water park areas clear of dangerous objects and substances.
  • Immediately report needed repairs to the aquatics/park services supervisor or manager.
  • Present a favorable, professional public image.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the aquatics supervisor or manager, which may include general housekeeping, general maintenance, inspection of equipment, and aquatic feature inspection.
  • Assist in opening, closing, and operating the facility as directed by management.
  • Assist in maintaining pools by brushing, skimming, vacuuming, scrubbing, etc. as required.
  • Adhere to company standards and maintain compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that guests receive outstanding customer service by providing a friendly, fun, and safe environment.
  • Maintain a high standard, positive attitude, and professional appearance.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings as required and develop a harmonious working relationship with all departments.
  • Follow and enforce all sanitation procedures, safety guidelines, and OSHA requirements.
  • Enforce El Paso Water Parks, Ellis & Associates, and Legends Global safety standards.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Recognize and respond effectively to all emergency situations.
  • Maintain current certifications and stay up‑to‑date professionally in the aquatics and risk management field.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Swim Instructor

Duties & Responsibilities (if Applicable)
  • Provide quality swim lessons and commit to the full summer season of waterpark programming.
  • Provide customer service feedback for swim lesson participants and update them on the progression of students.
  • Attend 2 hours per month of swim lesson in‑service training.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Must be able to swim, perform water activities, and execute rescues.
  • Must swim 50 yards (front crawl or breaststroke), swim under water for 10 feet, and retrieve a 10‑pound brick from the shallow bottom of a pool.
  • Must swim 200 yards (front crawl or breaststroke), tread water for 2 minutes with hands out of the water, and retrieve a 10‑pound brick from the deepest part of the pool.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, vendors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Current Ellis & Associates (or equivalent) lifeguard certification preferred or obtainable upon hire.
  • Recognizes an emergency and takes appropriate action.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
