Diesel Mechanic

Overview

As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) at United Rentals, you’ll perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. You’ll have the opportunity to grow into higher technical and leadership roles while delivering exceptional customer service.

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in training lower‑level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer‑owned equipment; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Assist with pick‑up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• 3‑5 years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
• Must own tools applicable to the position.
• Superior customer‑service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
