Position Summary

We seek an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management/3rd key experience. The role partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. The Assistant will analyze financial statements, commit to the company's asset‑protection program, promote the business, and target new customer acquisitions.

All employees work with a wide variety of merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

This position offers an hourly wage;
Assistant Store Managers earn commission based on productivity and have a bonus based on store performance. Pay is based on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
  • Assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent via company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and ensure all procedures are followed to protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety, documentation, and secure customer loans.
  • Administer processes and procedures—including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure operations meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes for value and integrity of all loans.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
  • Communicate clearly with employees about the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting (as required by law).
  • Capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated supervisory ability.
  • Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
  • May assist customers at the exterior of the building or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Flexible for multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Assistant Store Managers expected to work 40+ hours per week; hours are variable based on business needs.
  • Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Cash handling experience required.
