Assistant Meat/Seafood Manager – Sprouts Farmers Market

OverviewHelp customers make healthy food choices while maintaining a high‑quality meat and seafood department. This role requires precision, expertise, and a passion for customer experience in one of the fastest growing retailers.
Responsibilities- Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
- Order and control inventory, maintain product quality, and supervise the Meat & Seafood team.
- Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
- Help lead a team that delivers the finest product quality, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
- Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Meat & Seafood team.
- Manage weekly ad items, assist with inventory and ordering, enforce department practices for receiving, stocking, and unloading product, and follow “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.
- Unload and sort store deliveries and operate and maintain meat & seafood equipment.
- Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations and enforce awareness among team members.
- Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work areas.
- At least 18 years of age with basic math, weights, and measures knowledge.
- Minimum of 2 years professional experience, proven leadership experience, and 2–3 years grocery retail experience in meat department processes preferred.
- Dependable, reliable, and able to perform related duties as assigned.
- Outgoing, friendly behavior, positive attitude, and customer interaction skills.
- Flexible schedule work ability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Good communication skills and teamwork participation.
- Battery‑to‑work up to 8 hours, standing up to 4 hours continuously, walk up to 2 miles per shift.
- Capable of lifting/carrying 25–90 lbs., operating a pallet jack for up to 500 lbs., and performing other weight handling duties as described.
- Ability to use sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
- Good vision required for handling knives and equipment.
