Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with department requirements and state standards. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, provide compassionate support, and act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers. Your responsibilities include following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage" and embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and at each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s); ensure thorough and timely documentation of care in the patient’s medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve issues.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology into clear language.
Required Licensure and Certification
  • RN licensed in the State of Texas or Compact jurisdiction.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) current certification.
Required Education
  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience
  • 1+ year of applicable experience required.
  • Critical Care background preferred.
  • Experience with dysrhythmia recognition and proficiency in interpreting EKG.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Medical nursing unit experience preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and writing basic English for transferring physician orders.
  • Knowledge of body substance isolation protocols.
  • Ability to move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to handle complex medical terminology.
