Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Medical Oncology Department at our Grandview, El Paso, TX location. This is a full-time Monday-Friday position (8:30am-5pm) with no weekends, call or major holidays.

does the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients following national and company standards and specialty regulations. The RN recognizes the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participates in company‑wide quality initiatives. The RN supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
  • Inter‑professional collaboration.
  • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
