Certified Nursing Assistant PRN Days - Kindred
This PRN position is for a Certified Nursing Assistant with at least six months of experience in an acute or long‑term care facility. The certified nursing assistant will work under the direction of registered nursing staff to provide essential patient care and support within the assigned area.
Job SummaryAssist professional nursing personnel in providing patient care and performing basic clinical and personal care tasks. Responsibilities include activities of daily living assistance, emotional support, and execution of more complex clinical skills under RN supervision.
Essential Responsibilities- Consult with and keep supervisor informed of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
- Provide general nursing care: positioning, lifting, turning, use of special equipment, assistance with bedpan/urinal/commode, ambulation, pre‑operative and post‑operative care, application of anti‑embolism stockings, bed baths, oral/hair/back care, changing bed linens, cleaning bedside area, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Take and record vital signs and intake/output measurements; document promptly and accurately.
- Prepare patient rooms and beds for admission, transfer, and discharge; ensure all necessary equipment is available.
- Maintain an attractive and comfortable environment for patients, considering cleanliness, ventilation, and lighting.
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
- Handle and care for patient belongings and personal property.
- Respond to patient call lights, telephone, and paging system appropriately.
- Under RN direction, perform routine treatment procedures such as enemas and application of heat/cold appliances.
- Release, remove, and reapply restraints under RN direction.
- Ensure patient is properly positioned and aligned during all activities.
- Assist Registered Nurse and/or LVN/LPN with complicated patient treatment procedures.
- Serve and remove patient meal trays in a timely manner.
- Assist with feeding and preparation of items, such as opening milk containers and cutting food for patients.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Good regular attendance.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to organize tasks, develop action plans, prioritize, and function under stressful situations.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships within the department and with other departments.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Completion of a course for nursing assistants.
Licenses/Certification- Current Nursing Assistant Certification.
- BLS Certification.
Minimum six months’ experience in an acute or long‑term care facility.
