Overview

Full‑time Monday‑Friday position (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) with no weekends, call, or major holidays. Texas Oncology, the largest community oncology provider in the country, is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Gateway clinic in El Paso, TX. The RN will deliver professional nursing care while adhering to national, company, and specialty regulations, and will participate in quality initiatives and the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
    • Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
    • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
    • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
    • Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
    • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
    • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient chart.
    • Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
    • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
  • Inter‑professional collaboration.
    • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Willingness to consider entry, mid, or senior‑level candidate.
  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Working Conditions

The work environment may expose staff to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations typical of an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting/carrying up to 40 lb, and normal vision/hearing.
