The Wound Care RN is responsible for all assigned nursing care activities to include but not limited to wound care for patients of all ages and other clinical activities associated with providing safe patient care. The RN is responsible for following all WHC policies and procedures, care protocols and
Diversified Clinical Services Practice Guidelines, as directed by a Registered Nurse, or Physician. The RN will be responsible for assisting with patient and wound care data conferences, and continuing education is required as determined by the Program Director.
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care through assessments, nursing interventions, documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
Essential Functions
* The RN must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients served on his/her assigned unit as described in unit based competencies, policies and procedures.
* In collaboration with other staff members, provides bedside patient care, implementing the interventions identified in the plan of care, as directed by physician.
* Ensure appropriate patient care documentation.
* Implement and assure compliance with wound center and hospital policies and procedures
* Maintain familiarity with regulatory standards
* Report quality of care issues to clinical manager or Program Director.
* Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
* Communicates with all team members regarding therapeutic interventions.
* Accurately perform patient assessments and identify individual care needs.
* Initiate and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
* Deliver care appropriate to the condition and age of each patient.
* Document medical necessity and nursing activities in a timely and accurate manner.
* Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for assigned patients.
* Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
This role requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
Attention to detail in clinical documentation is essential.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
Experience:
Wound Care experience, minimum 1 year experience in Rehab or acute care setting preferred.
License:
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Certifications:
CPR/BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred. CRRN preferred.
