As a PICU RN you will assume responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts. You will collaborate with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit. You will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center.

You will collaborate with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, delegates and coordinates treatment plans and the plan of care.

• You will assume responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift.
• You will function as a resource person for staff members and assist in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.
• You assume responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided when s/he is on duty.
• You will make decisions regarding activities within these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care of the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
• You will demonstrate knowledge and application of the nursing process.
• You will assess and monitor and recognize changes in the patient’s behavioral and physiological status; takes appropriate action based on assessment.

What qualifications you will need:

• 1 year of RN Experience - Required

• Associate’s degree in Nursing
• Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing - Preferred

• Texas registered nurse license
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• PALS Certification within 6 months of hire
