Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 13-week ICU night shift contract requiring ICU expertise, a TX or compact license, and advanced certifications.

• Position is located in a 24-bed adult ICU unit
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1
• Equipment used includes TABLO, Belmont/Level 1 rapid infuser, Camino/Integra ICP monitoring, Flo-trac, Rotoprone beds, ventilators, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Procedures performed include code intubation, trauma level 1 interventions, and code resuscitation
• EMR system used is Meditech
• Responsibilities include managing critical care patients and performing advanced interventions according to facility policy
• Team includes 1 charge nurse and 11-12 RNs per shift
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills and trauma experience with TNCC or TCAR certification are preferred
• Scrub color is galaxy blue or royal blue
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Galaxy blue or royal blue scrubs are required

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 3 years direct ICU nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
• NIH Stroke Certification is required
• Candidates must provide a US Social Security Number and date of birth for consideration
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• At least one professional reference required for consideration
