Job Description Summary
The Maintenance Storeroom Coordinator is responsible for managing the organization, inventory, purchasing, and availability of maintenance parts and supplies to support plant maintenance operations. This role ensures that maintenance teams have timely access to tools, materials, and equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records, effective supplier coordination, and cost‑conscious purchasing practices. The coordinator works closely with Maintenance, Planning/Scheduling, Procurement, Finance, and Operations to ensure inventory accuracy, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient storeroom environment.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities Storeroom, Inventory & Materials Management
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and compliant storeroom in accordance with 5S standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, including min/max and reorder points, to ensure material availability while controlling cost.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within CMMS/ERP systems.
- Perform cycle counts and annual physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Establish, maintain, and follow standard operating procedures for storeroom processes, including:
- Parts setup, replenishment, issue, return, repair, restocking, and kitting
- Inventory control, cycle counts, and annual counts
- Research, source, and purchase maintenance parts, materials, and supplies.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers; support pricing negotiations, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders; track and follow up on open orders.
- Coordinate special and critical parts orders with maintenance to support urgent repairs.
- Arrange transportation and delivery of materials as required.
- Inspect received materials for quality and accuracy; resolve discrepancies with suppliers and management.
- Generate and distribute maintenance KPIs, including monthly reports and weekly schedule attainment reports.
- Provide inventory and KPI reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Finance, ensuring appropriate approvals for inventory adjustments, min/max changes, and obsolete material write‑offs.
- Attend daily and weekly maintenance and production meetings to review schedule status, completed work, and new incoming work orders.
- Meet regularly with maintenance personnel to ensure work requests are supported and material needs are met.
- Recommend and coordinate alternatives to address resource constraints, including schedule changes, overtime, or third‑party support.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement best practices related to safety, quality, maintenance standards, training, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain open and effective communication across departments to support maintenance execution.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in inventory management, material handling, or storeroom coordination in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Purchasing or buyer experience supporting maintenance or manufacturing operations preferred.
- Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
- Familiarity with maintenance parts, tools, and equipment.
- Working knowledge of CMMS, ERP, or inventory management systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective communication skills with maintenance teams, suppliers, and leadership.
- Critical thinking and basic negotiation skills.
- Fluency in English required;
Bilingual preferred.
