Plant Operator

The Plant Operator I is a skilled position requiring a thorough understanding of the ready-mix concrete business. The Plant Operator I controls the process to produce concrete from raw ingredients and additives according to predetermined specifications using computer batching software, and verifies correct admixtures are used in correct dosages and provides verification that the concrete batched meets the specifications established by company and customer.

This position requires day to day interaction with other employees.

• Ensures production of quality ready mix concrete in accordance with required mix specifications
• Performs opening, start up and shutdown of plant.
• Interacting regularly with dispatchers, haulers, drivers, customers, operations, production and quality control personnel to ensure production and customer demands are met.
• Daily inspection of entire plant facility.
• Manages maintenance needs at site to ensure equipment readiness and meet production projections. This includes cleaning and lubricating daily and according to our preventive maintenance schedule.
• Thorough working knowledge of computer/batching system

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver's License
• AC1 certification (or be able to obtain within 1 year of hire date)
• Must be computer literate
• Ability to perform moderately complex mathematical equations as applicable
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Must have a thorough understanding of the ready-mix concrete business
