Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an EHS Technician.

The hourly rate for this position is $28.00 per hour. The hours for this shift are Weekend, Fri., Sat., & Sun. 6:00am - 6:30pm.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do PRIMARY FUNCTION

Eaton’s PDCA Power Distribution Control Assembly division in El Paso is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented EHS Technician to join our team for the weekend shift. The EHS Technician will be responsible for supporting the Environmental Health and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a safe and healthy workplace.

Essential Functions
  • Drive and promote zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
  • Champion and lead projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our “Zero Incident Safety Culture” program(s).
  • Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and utilize the MESH tools to drive improvements.
  • Support the function in EHS data analysis, data management, reporting and training while providing technical expertise to the organization.
  • Support tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance.
  • Support EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
  • Assist champion for the MESH MOC process, this will include mentoring employees who perform a variety of engineering work in designing, installing, operating, and maintaining measuring apparatus necessary to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land and water.
  • Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements (body mechanics, lifts, hoists, manipulators, etc.) and implement these work design changes.
  • Actively investigate all accidents and near misses, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Will be the lead person for 8D on all recordable accidents.
  • Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.
  • Coordinate assigned Occupational Safety and Health and other training programs, possibly including, but not limited to:
    Personal Protective Equipment, Forklift, First Aid, Machine Safety, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Blood Borne Pathogen, Foot Protection and Eye Protection, Confined Space, Contractor Safety and Hazard Communication.
  • Ensure accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics and closure of assigned MESH and regulatory agency findings and assist with intermediate communication with public/government authorities; assists in providing guidance and leading resolutions actions during crises as needed.
  • Compile and analyze MESH data for capturing in Eaton’s Safety database to include corrective action tracking and MESH scoring as assigned, including the review of the site's Workstation Risk Assessment Program.
  • Assist coordination to ZWaD certification and water reduction programs with cross functional teams.
  • Emergency Response:
    Participate in emergency response planning and drills and provide first aid as needed.
  • Record Keeping:
    Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training activities.
  • Hazardous Materials:
    Manage the proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify opportunities for improving EHS processes and procedures.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift, up to 20 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
