Base Salary: Up to $130,000 annually

Leadership Incentive Bonus: Up to 17.5% annually (based on facility performance metrics)

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $15,000

Job Description Overview

A large acute care hospital in West Texas is seeking an experienced Neonatal ICU Director to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for a Level III NICU and Transition Nursery. This role oversees a high-acuity neonatal program, including NICU transport services, and is responsible for quality outcomes, staff development, financial performance, and service line growth.

This opportunity is ideal for a NICU nursing leader with strong neonatal clinical expertise, proven leadership capability, and experience managing complex neonatal services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 24/7 leadership oversight and operational accountability for the NICU, Transition Nursery, and NICU Transport program
  • Direct day-to-day operations, staffing, productivity, and workflow management
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cost containment, and capital planning initiatives
  • Develop and maintain staff competency, engagement, and satisfaction across neonatal services
  • Oversee quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards
  • Promote multidisciplinary collaboration across nursing, neonatology, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, laboratory, and support services
  • Support outreach, program development, and community engagement initiatives
  • Manage human resources functions including hiring, coaching, performance management, and staff development
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active RN license (Texas or compact state)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification

Preferred:

  • Prior leadership experience in a NICU or neonatal service line
  • Experience overseeing NICU transport services
