Maintain and repair all types of commercial kitchen equipment and systems, including but not limited to refrigeration, 120-480 volt electrical and low‑pressure steam, and auxiliary equipment. Be familiar with legal requirements and safety codes related to the installation and operation of kitchen equipment and systems and ensure that such systems on the campus are in compliance with legal/safety codes. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Perform skilled and semi‑skilled tasks on a regular and continuous basis related, but not limited to, heating, food prep, and other kitchen equipment.
• Maintain the plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components of the kitchen building systems to include, but not limited to, major overhaul and repair work that involves disassembly, inspection of parts, replacements, etc.
• Maintain commercial kitchen equipment, to include ovens, tilt skillets, mixers, blenders, etc., found at the kitchen.
• Perform various manual tasks involved in the upkeep of food service equipment for continuous performance.
• Maintain all exhaust hoods as required.
• Responsible for the maintenance of kitchen equipment to include test equipment and instruments to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
• Must generate inventories of food service equipment and must provide a replacement plan for all equipment.
• Ensure that kitchen equipment is maintained in a cost‑efficient manner and funds are managed wisely.
• Cooperate with other co salty and report necessary information to the immediate supervisor.
• Make routine decisions under general supervision using some individual analysis in accordance with established priorities and policies; refer major decisions to the supervisor; perform functions associated with equal or lower‑level job classification.
• Attendance at the work site is required to meet the essential function of the job.

• Participate in professional development activities as required by the district.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals.
• Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); two (2) years’ experience maintaining commercial kitchen equipment; valid Texas/New Mexico Driver License; must be insurable by the district’s auto liability insurance carrier. Subject to the YISD drug and alcohol testing policy and regulation.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district‑wide travel; must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds frequently; LW work under all weather conditions, around/on moving objects; be adaptable to work a shift schedule and/or hours other than regularly 발. Extended periods of walking, standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, heavy lifting, and carrying. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas/New Mexico driver license and be insurable by the district’s liability insurance carrier, subject to the YISD drug and school testing policy and regulation.
