Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Mesilla Valley Transportation is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to design, develop, monitor, and maintain enterprise BI solutions. Local candidates only – El Paso, TX or Las Cruces, NM.

• Architect, design, and develop enterprise-wide BI solutions using tools such as Power BI, SSRS, and SQL Server.
• Lead the entire BI lifecycle, from gathering requirements to designing data models, creating dashboards, and deploying solutions.
• Optimize and enhance BI solutions for performance, scalability, and usability, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including application developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders, to integrate BI solutions with other systems.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior BI developers, guiding them on best practices, tool usage, and professional growth.
• Manage ETL processes, ensuring efficient data flow and integration across various data sources.
• Continuously improve BI processes, tools, and standards within the organization.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence development, with a proven track record of delivering complex BI projects.
• Expertise in BI tools such as Power BI, SSRS, and SQL Server, with advanced knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and ETL processes.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing projects and mentoring junior developers.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with advanced data analysis techniques.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• A deep understanding of BI best practices and emerging trends in data analytics.
